One manager even intimated that the problem mustve started with a little paint chip and I had neglected the problem over a long period of time to create such a large area. All of them said they would get back to me none did even though I called back to find out the status of my claim. When we returned to Maryland I visited 3 different Honda dealers to discuss having it fixed.

You can see that the bare metal below is free of scrapes or dings or dents the paint just peeled off. We are guessing the paint stripped off during our drive from Maryland to North Carolina a few days before. We noticed an 8.5 x 11 stripped area of paint on our roof between the windshield and sunroof on the evening of January 2nd. This problem is a lot wider than Honda has admitted to, and they did not notify all owners about the lawsuit settlement because we never got a card, despite getting notices about other warranty recalls, etc. Now we have to get it fixed to pass CA smog, but Honda is making us go through multiple 1000 mile consumption tests to prove there is a problem DESPITE the fact that you can SEE and SMELL the burning oil in addition to the excess oil usage. When I was looking for information about the smoking, I found out about the lawsuit and settlement – we NEVER got any indication that there was a settlement about the excess oil consumption and our van could be fixed by Honda, even back when it was just using a lot of oil, but not smoking visibly yet.
Then in the last few years, it\'s gotten to the point where you can smell the oil burning and sometimes the exhaust is gray, a dead-tell of burning oil. I don\'t have the exact dates of when this started, but the Odyssey started consuming enough oil that I had to add it between changes.

The fuel gauge will always read 3/4 full to full regardless of the actual level. The affected fuel pump may send an incorrect fuel reading to the fuel gauge possibly causing the vehicle to run out of fuel. The recall numbers associated with this campaign are JD9 (inspection and/or preliminary part replacement) and JE0 (final parts replacement).ĭelphi Automotive Systems, LLC (Delphi) is recalling certain replacement fuel pump modules, part number FG1155-11B1, sold for use in 2005-2010 Honda Odyssey vehicles. All vehicles, including those receiving the interim repair, will get an improved cover when they are available.
Any vehicles that are currently leaking from the fuel pump cover will get a replacement, original cover. A second notice was mailed to owners Octowhen the remedy became available. Honda will notify owners with an interim letter during May 2014. Parts to permanently repair the affected vehicles are not currently available.
